Savings Accounts

With so many different types of savings accounts to choose from, it can be difficult to know which one to select.

Are you looking for an instant access account or are you happy to tie your money up for a fixed period of time in order to secure a higher rate of interest? Some of the best savings rates are for accounts that are fixed for 3 or more years but this does mean you will have little or no access to your savings during this time.

Do you prefer to access your savings online, via the phone, or are you happy to visit your local bank or building society branch? Perhaps you are looking to take advantage of your tax free allowance with a Cash ISA?

We can help guide you through the process of choosing the right account. It doesn’t have to be complicated. Whatever your needs, you can be really clear on what is available and choose the savings account that best suits your requirements.

What is AER?

AER stands for Annual Equivalent Rate. It shows you how much interest you would earn if you left your savings in the account for a full year.

Interest is usually paid to your account either monthly or annually. There are a number of ways this can be done but basically, they all add up to the same thing. You just need to make sure that the AER compares favourably with other accounts when choosing the one for you.
